At Classen, several deviating decor images are printed in a single print job so that a higher variance and thus a higher naturalness of the flooring is achieved in the installed laminate flooring. This means that the decor images can change completely from one printed full-format panel to the next. This "flying" change of the image from one panel to the next is beyond the capabilities of conventional image processing strategies, which first teach in a printed image and then use an image comparison to detect any deviations. To solve this problem, Baumer has developed a completely new form of automatic analysis of texture images, which makes it possible to precisely analyze large-format, digitally printed images in a flying change.
